Nagarhole National Park (also known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park) is famous for hosting one of the largest congregations of Asian elephants in the world. Because it is integrated into the larger Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, it provides a massive, protected corridor where elephants can safely migrate.
Because of their high vantage point, langurs are the primary sentinels of Nagarhole. The moment they spot a stalking tiger or leopard, they emit a sharp, barking alarm call that alerts the entire forest—safari guides rely heavily on these monkey calls to track predators
